🕊️ Work Has Purpose

🪶 Paths of Hope — Devotional 3: Work Has Purpose

📖 God’s Word

“Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God.” — Genesis 6:9

📚 The Story

The world was filled with violence and wickedness. God decided to start again, but He found one faithful man — Noah. God gave him a hard task: to build a huge ark that would save his family and the animals of the earth.

Noah worked for years with dedication, obedience, and faith. He chopped wood, measured, hammered, and carefully followed God’s plan — even when there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. His work was exhausting, but it had meaning: to cooperate with God in saving life.

🌿 Let’s Reflect Together

Just like Noah built the ark with sweat and faith, many of you build wooden houses, farm the land, clean the streams, fish the rivers, and gather food. Work is tiring — but it provides for life.

Noah shows us that work done with God has meaning — even when it’s hard or the results take time.

Work is not a punishment. God created it as part of a good life. He invites us to participate in caring for creation and protecting life.

Even simple tasks — sweeping, planting, cooking, cleaning, building — become holy when done with love for the good of others.

Work with purpose brings glory to God.

🔥 What Can We Do?

✔️ Work with faith, knowing that God sees and values every effort.
✔️ Involve your children and neighbors in tasks that teach responsibility and cooperation.
✔️ Offer your daily work to God as an act of worship.

💬 Question for Conversation

Are you working only to survive, or also to serve God and others with love?

✝️ Where Do We See Jesus Here?

Jesus also worked with His hands. He was a carpenter and a servant. He showed that loving work is part of God’s Kingdom.

On the cross, He declared, “It is finished” — the work of salvation was complete.

Now He calls us to work with Him, spreading goodness throughout the world.

🙏 Let’s Pray Together

“Lord, thank You for the gift of work. Help us work with joy, purpose, and faith — like Noah. May all we do with our hands serve Your Kingdom. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
