🪶 Paths of Hope — Devotional 10: The Kingdom of God Is Justice and Peace

📖 God’s Word

“Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”
“The one who had mercy on him,” replied the expert in the law.
Jesus told him, “Go and do the same.”
— Luke 10:36–37

📚 The Story

A man was attacked by robbers while traveling. They took everything he had, beat him badly, and left him almost dead by the roadside.

Two religious men passed by and ignored him. They didn’t want to get involved.
But a Samaritan — someone not from the same people — stopped. He saw the man, had compassion, treated his wounds, placed him on his own animal, and took him to a safe place.

Jesus told this story to show what it really means to love your neighbor. And at the end, He asked:

“Which of the three was the true neighbor?”

The answer was clear: the one who helped. And Jesus said:
“Go and do the same.”

🌿 Let’s Reflect Together

Have you ever seen someone fallen along a trail — hurt by a branch, a snake, or a fall from a canoe? Sometimes others pass nearby, look from afar, but pretend they didn’t see. They don’t want to get involved. But what Jesus teaches is different.

The Kingdom of God isn’t made of nice words — it’s made of loving actions.
The Samaritan didn’t know the wounded man, but he stopped to care for him as if he were family. He spent time, oil, money, and affection. He didn’t ask where the man was from. He simply saw him as a human being with value — someone who needed help.

That’s what the Kingdom of God looks like: when justice and compassion overcome selfishness. When someone rises up to help. When a village cares for its sick. When a mother feeds her neighbor’s child. When someone shares their hammock, their flour, or their time.

The Kingdom isn’t only for after death. It begins now — wherever Jesus reigns in the heart and transforms the way we treat one another.

🔥 What Can We Do?

✔️ Ask Jesus to open your eyes to those who are fallen around you.
✔️ Don’t wait for the “religious” to act — be the answer God is sending.
✔️ Live the Kingdom now, through justice, compassion, and concrete acts of love.

💬 Question for Conversation

Are you living as someone of God’s Kingdom — serving and loving those who need it most?

✝️ Where Do We See Jesus Here?

Jesus is the true Good Samaritan. He found us fallen — wounded by sin and abandoned by the world.
He stopped, saw us, cared for us with His own blood, and carried us in His arms.

He didn’t pass by. He came down from heaven to lift us from the road.
And now He says:
“Go and do the same.”

When we look at Jesus, we learn to live like Him — serving, healing, and loving, even when it costs time, effort, or pain.

🙏 Let’s Pray Together

“Lord Jesus, thank You for seeing me when I was fallen and for coming to help me. Open my eyes to see those who are hurting around me. Give me a heart full of compassion and hands ready to act. Teach me to live Your Kingdom now — with love and justice. In Your name, amen.”
